New Delhi: Infosys Limited has signed a significant agreement to collaborate with Anthropic to develop and implement advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems for enterprises. Anthropic, the company behind Claude AI, will integrate its Claude AI models, specifically Claude Code, into Infosys' Topaz AI platform as part of this partnership.

The primary objective of this partnership is to automate complex business processes, accelerate software development, and support the adoption of governed AI.

Focus on Specific Industries

This agreement will be specifically for the telecom industry, with Infosys and Anthropic jointly establishing an "Anthropic Center of Excellence." This agreement will create AI agents for industry-specific operations, such as network management and customer lifecycle processes. This initiative will later expand to sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, and software development.

Focus on Agentic AI

The cornerstone of agreement is agentic AI, i.e., systems that can autonomously execute multi-step tasks, rather than following single instructions.

These AI agents can assist with tasks such as claims processing, compliance reviews, risk assessment, code generation, and testing. This type of AI can be used more effectively across industries, increasing speed and efficiency.

Statements from the CEOs of Infosys and Anthropic

'AI is not only transforming businesses but also redefining how industries operate and innovate,' said Infosys CEO Salil Parikh about the partnership. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei also said that Infosys' domain expertise will further strengthen this partnership, especially in industries where regulatory processes are crucial.

Infosys Shares Rise

Following the announcement of the agreement, Infosys shares rose by more than 3%, becoming one of the biggest gainers on the Nifty index. Infosys has already been selected as a top pick by several brokerages, given the AI-led shift in the Indian IT sector.
