iPhone 18 Pro lineup to debut soon (credit:X)
US-based smartphone manufacturing giant Apple is gearing up for launch of its next generation flagship series, iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The next-generation iPhones are likely to debut in September as the company launches its device traditionally but with a twist. The media reports and leaks suggest that the company will split the launch into two phases; in the first phase that is expected to take place in September will introduce iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and much awaited iPhone fold or iPhone Ultra. While the standard variant i.e., iPhone 18 along with iPhone 18e is expected to launch in second phase which is likely to take place in early 2027.
According to a Forbes report, the September launch could offer several strategic advantages to the company over Android handset manufacturers such as Samsung and Google, both of which are likely to introduce their flagship devices earlier in the summer.
According to Mark Gurman’s latest report, the company is likely to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro series on Tuesday, 8th September 2026 or Wednesday, 9th September 2026. However, the higher chances are of 9th September as the stronger probability to give international media a travel day after the US Labor Day holiday.
The report further suggests that the retail store availability of the new iPhones and the first wave of deliveries will likely follow on September 18, 2026.
The media reports and leaks suggest that the device will feature a 6.3-inch display for iPhone 18 Pro and 6.9-inch Display for iPhone 18 Pro Max. The major change in display is expected to be a smaller Dynamic Island, likely by moving some Face ID components underneath the Display whereas some media reports also suggest an under-display Face ID. The Pro models are also likely to feature LTPO+ display for better battery life.
The upcoming handsets are expected to be powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. The device will be packed with a 5,500mAh battery which will be the biggest battery used in an iPhone till date.
In terms of optics, the rear panel is likely to retain a triple 48MP camera setup with upgraded hardware. The reports suggest that primary lenses could finally receive a variable-aperture lens, allowing users enhanced control over depth of field and low-light photography. The front panel is expected to feature a 24MP camera for selfie and video calling.
The upcoming handsets are expected to be priced at Rs 1,39,900 for iPhone 18 Pro variant whereas the Pro Max variant is likely to be priced at Rs 1,54,900. However, the company has not announced anything officially yet.
