Three people were injured in a bomb blast in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province, Pajhwok Afghan News has reported.
Afghan officials say an airstrike killed 17 policemen by mistake during a battle with the Taliban just outside the provincial capital of Lashkar Gah in the country’s southern Helmand province.
Seven Taliban members were killed and six were injured in airstrikes launched by the Afghan National Army (ANA) in Garmsir, Grishk and Nad Ali districts of Helmand province.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Sunday said that at least 25 insurgents have been killed in ground and airstrike operations carried out by Afghan forces across the country.
The bomb struck a bank where civilian and military government employees were queueing to withdraw their salaries.
