The government has cleared the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium to elevate Justice K M Joseph, who heads the Uttarakhand High Court, to the top court, ending a long standoff with the judiciary.
Five-judge Collegium of the Supreme Court will meet on Friday to take a decision on the Centre’s objections on the elevation of Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice K M Joseph as a judge of the apex court.
Supreme Court collegium meeting is expected to take place today which may again recommend the name of the Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice K M Joseph for elevation as a judge of the apex court.
