Fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Sunday quoted an interview of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assert that the government has already recovered more than what he allegedly owed to banks.
Expressing “deep satisfaction” at the London court’s judgement on Vijay Mallya extradition case, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that it will continue to work with the UK government for early extradition of the liquor baron.
A day after Vijay Mallya claimed that he met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley before leaving for London, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy said that a lookout notice against the fugitive liquor baron was diluted from “Block” to “Report” which helped in his departure.
