India on Monday thanked Qatar Airways for facilitating British Oxygen Company shipment of 1350 oxygen cylinders as part of COVID-19 assistance for India’s fight against the surging coronavirus cases.
An aircraft carrying 1,900 oxygen cannulas and 396 oxygen cylinders from Austria and 500 oxygen cylinders from Czech Republic arrived in India on Saturday as the country struggles with a massive second wave of infections with several hospitals turning away patients due to shortage of beds and oxygen supplies.

Amid rising demand for medical oxygen due to a constant increase in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, 32 big and 16 small oxygen cylinders were recovered during a raid at a house in Dashrath Puri area of Delhi on Friday, said the Delhi Police.
A letter was written to the hospital authorities on August 3 and 10 informing them about the shortage of oxygen cylinders as the Pushpa Sales stopped supply over pending payment.
