Jharkhand government has imposed a ban on sale and use of tobacco products like cigarettes, bidi, pan masala, hookah, gutka and electronic cigarettes in the state.
The Uttarakhand government has put a total ban on the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of products like gutka and pan masala which have a high content of tobacco and nicotine in them.
Gutkha worth over Rs 11 lakh was seized from Palghar district in Maharashtra and two persons were arrested in this connection.
This was confirmed by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who said that the Chief Minister has inspected the annexe and directed the officials to maintain cleanliness so that the change is visible in the state.
