The day is celebrated to mark the anniversary of Pokhran Nuclear Tests (Operation Shakti) of 1998 and also India’s progress in the field of science and technology.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday remembered the nuclear tests held in 1998 at Pokhran, Rajasthan, terming it an “exceptional achievement” and a “landmark moment in India’s history” and applauded all those using technology to enhance the quality of life.
Moving closer toward the induction of the Nag anti-tank guided missiles into the Army, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Sunday carried out three successful test firings of the missiles in the Pokhran firing ranges.
