The Opposition leaders staged a protest in Parliament over alleged rape cases and ill-treatment of girls in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur and Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria districts shelter homes respectively.
Uttar Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi blamed the former governments in the state for all the irregularities that took place in the shelter homes.
Nitish Kumar ordered that adequate security arrangements should also be made at the shelter homes to ensure safety of the inmates.
