The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court challenging the Calcutta High Court’s order which allowed the house arrest of four Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, who are accused in the Narada case.
The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petitions filed by the Maharashtra government and its former home minister Anil Deshmukh challenging the Bombay High Court order directing a preliminary enquiry by the CBI into the allegations of corruption and misconduct levelled against him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on January 20 a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by one of the death-row convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case claiming that he was juvenile during the commission of the crime in 2012.
