The UN Security Council has expressed concern over the Taliban’s decision to ban girls from attending school above the sixth grade in Afghanistan.
India on Friday (local time) abstained from voting on UNSC resolution condemning Russia’s attack on Ukraine saying that the “path of diplomacy was given up”.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India is following the events in Afghanistan “very carefully” and the focus is on ensuring the security and safe return of its nationals who are still in the war-torn country.
