Agra: Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Ramjilal Suman has been put under house arrest by Agra police.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the MP was prevented from going to Kasganj where Akhilesh Yadav had sent a delegation to gather information about an incident in which Suman was also included. Police cited security reasons while Suman called it an undeclared emergency and condemned the attitude of the police.

There was a theft in Kuldeep Baghel’s house in Diuraiya village of Patiyali in Kasganj. Police is accused of beating up his family members and women. SP’s national president Akhilesh Yadav has formed an 11-member delegation to gather information about the incident, in which Ramjilal Suman is also included.

Suman was preparing to go to Kasganj on Tuesday morning, but before that police force was deployed at his residence. Suman was not allowed to come out of his residence. SP workers reached his residence in support of Suman and raised slogans. Suman expressed displeasure at being stopped.
He told the policemen that if he is not being allowed to go, he should be arrested. He was not allowed to go to Kasganj. Earlier on May 3, the police had detained Suman and stopped him from going to Aligarh.

This is an undeclared emergency. Politics means to share the pain and suffering of the exploited and oppressed. This is the religion of politics, which the police is not allowing. Even after one and a half months, no action has been taken against those who attacked his residence. Every time, citing security, the police puts him under house arrest, so that he cannot share the pain of innocent, Dalit, backward people.
Ramjilal Suman said this in a conversation with the media. He said that if the police has input about an attack on him, then they should take action against the attackers. Instead of taking action against the attackers, they are stopped, which is against the dignity of democracy. This is injustice to him. The police did not accept his request to arrest him.
On Okendra Rana coming to Agra and the police not taking any action, he said that he does not want to name anyone. The police had claimed that they have formed 10 squads, but they have not even caught a rat. The local police does only as much work as is instructed from above.
