Allahabad High Court grants bail to Samajwadi Party leader Irfan Solanki

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has granted a major relief to Irfan Solanki, a Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and four-time MLA from Kanpur Sisamau constituency. The High Court has granted his bail plea in the gangster case. The bail applications of his brother Rizwan Solanki and co-accused Israel Atewala have also been approved. A single bench of Justice Sameer Jain delivered this decision.

No Cases Remain Pending

Lawyer Shivakant Dixit explained that Irfan and Rizwan Solanki had received bail in all previously filed cases, but a gangster case was pending, preventing their release. Now, the High Court has granted bail in this case as well, clearing the way for the brothers to be released from jail. However, according to court procedures, it may take two to three days for them to be released.

After the High Court's decision granting bail, Irfan Solanki's mother, Khurshid Solanki, thanked Allah. The news also brought joy to the family and supporters. It is believed that after Azam Khan, SP leader Irfan Solanki may also be released from jail and return to active politics.

On 22 November 2022, a woman living in the Jajmau area of ​​Kanpur alleged that Irfan Solanki and his associates set her hut on fire. The complaint stated that they were attempting to grab her land and extort money, and that the house was set on fire when she resisted.

In this case, the Special MP-MLA Court in Kanpur sentenced Irfan Solanki, his brother Rizwan Solanki, Israel Atewala, Shaukat Pehalwan, and Sharif to seven years in prison. This sentence ended Irfan Solanki's tenure as MLA from the Sisamau assembly constituency.

Irfan Solanki has been in jail for the past three years and has continuously fought a legal battle for bail during this time. Irfan, who is serving his sentence in the Maharajganj District Jail, will soon be released after receiving relief from the High Court.
