Lucknow: Indian Air Force Group Captain and now a Space Hero also, Shubhanshu Shukla has created history in the world of space. Thirty-nine-year-old Shubhanshu has become the first Indian to step into the International Space Station (ISS) under the Axiom-4 mission. His achievement has made not only Lucknow but the whole country proud.

SP Chief Meets Shuks Family

On Sunday, Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav met Shubhanshu's family and expressed pride in his achievement. Akhilesh, along with wife Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav and senior SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary, arrived at Shubhanshu's residence in Lucknow, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Shubhanshu Shukla took off from NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida on 25 June 2025 under the Axiom-4 mission. The next day, on 26 June, he reached the ISS. Astronauts from Poland, America and Hungary are also accompanying him in this mission.

14 Days In Space

While in space for 14 days, he is orbiting the Earth at an altitude of 418 km at a speed of 28,000 km/hour. During this time, he will participate in various scientific experiments, which can make a significant contribution in the field of space research.

After this meeting, Akhilesh Yadav shared pictures with Shubhanshu's family on social media. He wrote, "The courtyard from where the flight to space took place and the parents who became the land of courage, today with them in Lucknow." His post stole the headlines on social media and people praised Shubhanshu's achievement.

Akhilesh Yadav said on this occasion that youth like Shubhanshu are the future of the country. His achievement is giving a new identity to Uttar Pradesh and India on the global stage. Dimple Yadav also congratulated Shubhanshu's family and called his achievement the pride of the soil of Lucknow.

Who is Shubhanshu Shukla?

Shubhanshu was born on 10 October 1985 in Lucknow. He completed his primary education from City Montessori School and then got commissioned in the Indian Air Force. He has become the second Indian to travel to space after Rakesh Sharma.

His journey is a proud moment not only for his family but for the whole of India. Shubhanshu's story is an inspiration for the youth that with hard work and dedication, no dream is impossible."
