Budaun Tragedy: Five women killed, two critical as tractor-trolley hits E-rickshaw

Five women were killed and two others critically injured after a tractor-trolley collided with an e-rickshaw near Karua Bridge in Budaun. The victims were travelling to attend a wedding ritual when the tragic accident occurred.

Badaun: A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun district claimed the lives of five women and left two others critically injured on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred near Karua Bridge in Junuiya village under the Ujhani police station area when a tractor-trolley collided with an e-rickshaw carrying relatives on their way to attend a wedding ritual.

Tractor-Trolley Crashes Into E-Rickshaw

According to reports, seven residents of Muravan Nagla village were travelling in an e-rickshaw to Garhauna village under the Kotwali police station area to participate in the traditional 'Bhaat' ceremony. As the vehicle reached near Karua Bridge, an allegedly out-of-control tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction rammed into the e-rickshaw.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the e-rickshaw badly damaged and all seven occupants injured.

Five Women Die in the Accident

Five women succumbed to their injuries in the accident. The deceased have been identified as:

  • Rajkumari, wife of Dal Singh
  • Premvati, wife of Ramchandra Maurya
  • Revati, wife of Ramchandra Maurya
  • Sarla, wife of Bhojraj
  • Narayani Devi, wife of Jitendra, a resident of Gulabgarhi in Kasganj district

Their deaths have left the families and villagers in shock.

Two Seriously Injured Undergoing Treatment

Two people sustained serious injuries in the accident and were referred to the medical college for advanced treatment. They have been identified as:

  • Dal Singh, son of Summeri
  • Shani, son of Sanju and driver of the e-rickshaw

Doctors are closely monitoring their condition.

Wedding Celebrations Turn Into Mourning

The victims were travelling to perform the traditional Bhaat ritual ahead of the wedding of Kunwarpal, son of Dalchandra Maurya of Muravan Nagla village. The wedding is scheduled to take place on June 29.

What was supposed to be a joyous family celebration turned into a heartbreaking tragedy, plunging the entire family into grief.

Police Send Bodies for Post-Mortem

Following the accident, police reached the spot and took possession of the bodies. The five deceased women have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident and are looking into the circumstances that led to the collision.
