144-day of Bharat Yatra
Maharajganj: The Bharat Yatra of Om Prakash Patel of Chhattisgarh, who set out in search of religious faith, meditation and spiritual peace, reached Anandnagar town on the 144th day on Wednesday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Om Prakash, a resident of Nandgaon, District Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh), said that he started this journey completely barefoot and he has covered several thousand kilometers so far. His goal is to reach the world famous Pashupatinath Dham in Nepal, where after worship, he will return to his home district in two to three months via Jharkhand.
This path of Om Prakash Patel's meditation is not from today but has been going on for the last 17 years. He himself told that he had pledged that he will not use slippers or shoes in life. This is the reason why he is completing this difficult journey barefoot, becoming an example of penance and restraint.

During his spiritual cycle journey, he has visited major pilgrimage sites of the country like Amarkantak, Vaishno Devi in Jammu, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand, Haridwar, Ayodhya, Punjab and Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur. He told that at every place he got support and respect from the local people, which strengthened his courage and faith.
While talking to journalists and local citizens in Farenda, Om Prakash clarified that he is not associated with any institution, organization or political party. This journey is not for the purpose of any publicity, but is based on the voice of his soul. He said, "This is my sadhna, in which there is neither any show-off nor any expectation. I am just walking on the path of my religion and faith."
After completing the journey of Pashupatinath Dham, he will visit religious places like Deoghar, Rajrappa etc. in Jharkhand. From there he will return to Chhattisgarh. The journey will also end at the same place from where it started - Nandgaon in Mahasamund district.
People became emotional after knowing about Om Prakash's sadhana and sacrifice filled journey in Anandnagar. Many people invited him to their homes and gave him food, some made arrangements for his rest. His journey is not only becoming an inspiration for the society but it is also showing that every difficult path can become easy with faith, determination and restraint.
This unique bicycle journey of Om Prakash Patel is working to explain the true meaning of religion, faith and self-purification to the coming generations.
