Meerut: A major development has emerged in the high-profile kidnapping and murder case linked to Kapsad village under the Sardhana police station area of Meerut.
Ruby was discharged late evening from the Asha Jyoti Counselling Centre at Meerut Medical College and handed over to her family in the presence of the police. She later left for Kapsad village along with her brother Narsi and other family members.

According to sources, Ruby had already undergone a medical examination, following which experts at the counselling centre assessed her mental condition. During the counselling sessions, Ruby was encouraged to share her account of the incident freely and without fear or pressure. A heavy police force was deployed while Ruby was being taken from the Asha Jyoti Centre to Kapsad village. The administration remained on high alert to prevent any untoward incident. Personnel from multiple police stations, PAC units, and women police officers were deployed, underlining the sensitive and high-profile nature of the case.
Following news of Ruby’s return, tension and activity increased in Kapsad village. Police intensified security at all entry and exit points of the village. Entry is being allowed only after identity verification, and continuous patrolling is underway inside the village to prevent rumours or any law-and-order situation.

The incident occurred last Thursday morning when Sunita Devi was heading towards the fields with her daughter Ruby. Near the Rajwaha embankment, accused Paras Som and his associates allegedly attempted to abduct Ruby. When Sunita Devi resisted, the attackers assaulted her with a sharp weapon. She was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment. The accused fled the scene after kidnapping Ruby.
