Moradabad: A shocking incident of domestic violence unfolded in a village under Chhajlet police station limits, where a son allegedly shot his own father following a heated argument at home. The father sustained a serious gunshot injury and was rushed to a private hospital in Moradabad for treatment.
According to local sources, the father and son had been engaged in frequent quarrels over a previous family dispute. On the day of the incident, the argument reportedly escalated to such an extent that the son, in a fit of rage, took out a country-made pistol (tamanchā) and fired directly at his father.

The bullet struck the father in the shoulder, leaving him grievously injured. Somehow, the victim managed to escape from the scene and ran towards the village to seek help. Villagers and family members immediately took him to a nearby hospital and later referred him to a private facility in Moradabad for advanced treatment.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the shooting, the accused son fled the scene and remains absconding. Upon receiving information, police personnel from Chhajlait police station reached the village and began investigating the case.
Station House Officer (SHO) Pradeep Kumar Sahravat confirmed that police have not yet received any formal complaint or written statement (tahrir) from the family. “The matter appears to be domestic in nature, and no one has come forward to lodge a complaint so far,” the SHO said.

In a separate incident, a flower vendor was allegedly beaten up by five men in Devapur village under the Katghar police station area of Moradabad. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s wife, Geeta, her husband Virpal was returning home around 1 am. after selling flowers on Diwali night when he was attacked.

The accused, identified as Khempal, Pappu, Rajendra, Ankit, and Vijay Singh, allegedly intercepted Virpal on the way and assaulted him, leaving him injured. The attackers fled soon after. Based on Geeta’s complaint, police registered an FIR against all five under relevant sections. Station Officer Sanjay Kumar confirmed that the case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
Youth Beaten Over Monetary Dispute in Bilari
Meanwhile, in Bilari’s Thakuran locality, a youth named Aqil Hussain lodged a complaint against two brothers, Rocky and Saleem, for assaulting him over an ₹800 payment dispute. Aqil alleged that when he demanded his money back, the duo abused and attacked him with sticks and sharp weapons, causing injuries.
Police have registered a case against both brothers and initiated an inquiry.
