District Election Officer Mahendra Singh Tanwar inspected draft voter list reading under the Special Intensive Revision program, ensuring transparency, public participation, and timely correction of errors to guarantee that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral roll.

Draft Voter List Reading Conducted at Polling Stations
Kushinagar: Under the directions of the Election Commission of India, the draft voter list reading was conducted on January 11, 2026, as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. District Election Officer Mahendra Singh Tanwar supervised the process at various polling stations in the district.
In Assembly Constituency 333 Kasia, the draft voter list was read out at booths numbered 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 40, 41, 42, 43, and 44 located at Balbadi Junior High School, Kasia. Similarly, in Padrauna Assembly Constituency, booths 280 and 281 at Bhiswa Government Booth were covered.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) read out the draft voter list in the presence of the general public and Booth Level Agents (BLAs), allowing voters to verify their names, personal details, and other entries. This ensured transparency and public participation in the electoral process.
During the inspection, the District Election Officer interacted with citizens and BLAs to identify issues such as spelling mistakes, incorrect age or address entries, unclear photographs, or missing names. Officials were instructed to note all claims and objections carefully.

The District Election Officer directed concerned officials to resolve all claims and objections in a transparent, lawful, and time-bound manner, ensuring accuracy and fairness in the voter list.
Emphasizing the importance of the SIR process, Mahendra Singh Tanwar stated that its primary objective is to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of their voting rights and that the voter list remains updated, accurate, and error-free.
Additional District Magistrate Vaibhav Mishra, along with tehsildars and other concerned officials, were present during the inspection and monitoring of the process.
