Mathura: A devastating weather-related accident in Mathura has left an entire family grieving after an 18-year-old woman died when a wall collapsed during a storm. The incident occurred just weeks before her scheduled wedding, transforming a household preparing for celebrations into one mourning an unimaginable loss.
The accident took place on Friday night in Bachhgaon village under the Magorra police station area. According to local residents, Gunjan, daughter of Amar Singh, was returning home after feeding cattle in the family enclosure at around 9 p.m. when strong winds and rain suddenly swept through the area.
Amid the worsening weather conditions, an old wall reportedly collapsed without warning. Gunjan was trapped beneath the debris and suffered severe injuries.
Hearing the loud crash, family members and nearby residents rushed to the spot and began removing the rubble. Despite their efforts, the young woman could not be saved. She was pulled out from beneath the debris, but she had already succumbed to her injuries.
The incident sent shockwaves through the village, with residents expressing grief over the sudden loss.
After receiving information about the incident, local police reached the scene and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings suggest that the wall collapsed due to the strong storm and rainfall that affected the area.
The tragedy is particularly heartbreaking as Gunjan was set to marry on June 28. Her wedding had been arranged with a resident of Malikpur village, and both families had already begun preparations. Instead of welcoming wedding guests, the family is now mourning the loss of a daughter whose future was cut short by a tragic accident.
