Saifai (Etawah): On the occasion of Holi, Akhilesh Yadav, National President of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated Holi with flowers in his native village Saifai.
Delivering a message of brotherhood, peace, and opposition to war, he said, “We should all remain multicoloured — multicoloured at heart as well.” Senior party leaders present on the stage included Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav.
According to a Dynamite News correspondent, the Samajwadi Party chief used the festive occasion to convey both a social and political message from his ancestral village. Amid widespread Holi celebrations across Uttar Pradesh and the country, he interacted with family members, supporters, and party workers while celebrating with rose petals and other fragrant flowers.
During the event, party leaders exchanged greetings by showering each other with flowers. To the beats of drums and traditional folk music, party workers were seen celebrating with enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh Yadav described India’s festival of colours as unique in the world. “Nowhere else on earth will you find a festival of colours celebrated the way it is in India. This festival unites us and gives us the message that we should all remain multicoloured — multicoloured in our hearts as well,” he said.
Referring to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, he said that the path of truth and non-violence had inspired nations around the globe. “Ours is the country that gave the message of peace to the entire world. We gave the slogan ‘Live and Let Live.’ We must preserve our brotherhood and our Indian identity,” he added.
In his address, he also touched upon global developments, stating that war-like situations continue in several parts of the world. He remarked that conflicts are increasingly being fought in the name of technology and territory, and that ordinary people suffer the consequences. “The Samajwadi Party and the socialist ideology have never supported war. Wherever there is war, we stand against it. There should be no war,” he stated.
On the occasion of Holi, Akhilesh Yadav also shared photographs from the celebrations on social media with the caption, “Let us remain multicoloured at heart.”
