
IPS Amitabh Yash’s Father Ram Yash Singh Passes Away
Lucknow: Former IPS 1985 batch (Bihar cadre) Ram Yash Singh breathed his last on Monday in Lucknow. He is survived by wife Geeta, a daughter and four sons.
He was 83. He suddenly got unconscious at about 11.30 am at his Lucknow residence. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. But despite best efforts by doctors he could not survive and breathed his last at about 12 noon.
His cremation will take place in Lucknow at 10:00 tomorrow
Ram Yash Singh, father of Amitabh Yash, Uttar Pradesh ADG, Law and Order and STF Chief, was a distinguished former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer), known for his courageous outlook, sharp administrative acumen, and deep commitment to justice.
Ram Yash Singh was the member of the Board of Advisors of Dynamite News.
He is a highly respected name in Bihar’s law enforcement and legal circles. An alumnus of Jain College, Arrah, with a degree in B.Sc., Singh began his policing career in some of Bihar’s most challenging districts.
As Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), he led operations in West Champaran (Bettiah), East Champaran (Motihari), and Jehanabad, earning accolades for maintaining law and order and implementing reforms in high-pressure zones.
After his IPS career, Ram Yash Singh transitioned seamlessly into the field of law. He is now a Senior Advocate at the Patna High Court, where he continues to contribute to public service through legal advocacy and justice delivery. With a unique blend of experience in law enforcement and judiciary.
