Kanwar Yatra: 15,000 Policemen deployed; Drone surveillance to ensure safety

Meerut: The holy Kanwar Yatra of Shravan month would be completed with full devotion and enthusiasm this year too. For this, the police administration has geared up for security arrangements. Kanwar Yatra will be monitored from every direction from ground to sky.

Dynamite News correspondent reports, a comprehensive security plan has been prepared under the leadership of Meerut Range DIG Kalanidhi Naithani. Under which more than 15 thousand policemen will be deployed on the Yatra route.

Range Divided Into 57 Zones And 155 Sectors

In view of the grandeur and crowd of Kanwar Yatra, Meerut Range which includes Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Baghpat districts. Has been divided into 57 zones and 155 sectors. There will be tight security arrangements on the 540 km long Kanwar route. 10 tolls and barriers will be installed at 119 places on this entire route. If we talk about the districts, there will be 25 barriers each in Meerut and Bulandshahr, 51 in Baghpat and 18 in Hapur.

The Yatra will be monitored by drones and watch towers will also be built. The special thing is that even in plain clothes, male and female policemen will stay among the Kanwariyas and keep an eye on every activity. 184 sensitive places have been identified on the Kanwar route.

CCTV Monitoring

In view of the huge number of devotees, CCTV cameras will be installed in all major temples from outside to the sanctum sanctorum. The estimated number of devotees in the temples is as follows.

Pura Mahadev, Baghpat: 20 lakhs
Baba Aughadnath Temple Meerut: 4 lakhs
Brajghat, Hapur: 4 lakhs
Ambkeshwar Mahadev, Aahar (Bulandshahr): 70 thousand
Sabli Mandir, Hapur: 50 thousand

Drone cameras and PA systems will be active

BDDS (bomb disposal squad), AS check team, intelligence department and cyber cell will be on alert. SDRF, NDRF and local divers' teams will be ready to deal with emergencies. Strict monitoring of rumour mongers on social media. Lost and found centres will be set up in every district."
