Meerut: "I'm getting out..." This short phone call proved to be a turning point in the Kapsad murder case. As soon as the main accused, Paras Som, made this call to a friend, the police surveillance team became alert.

Paras's mobile phone was already under surveillance. Immediately after the call was intercepted, the Meerut police contacted the Haridwar police and formulated a strategy to surround the area in Roorkee.

Police tightened the noose before he could catch a train

Police suspected that Paras might be trying to escape to another state with the young woman, Ruby, by train. Based on this information, the SSP Haridwar immediately sent the SP Rural to the Roorkee railway station.

Meerut police teams also left, but before they could arrive, the Haridwar police acted, safely rescuing the young woman at the station and arresting the accused, Paras Som.

Accused hid in Nagal village for two days

After committing the crime, Paras Som took the young woman, Ruby, to the house of a relative in Nagal village of Saharanpur district. He spent two days there in hiding.

Saharanpur police received information that the young man and woman were staying in Nagal and were planning to leave for another place on Saturday. Before the police could reach there, both of them arrived at the Roorkee railway station.

The last phone call was made from the railway station

After reaching the Roorkee railway station, Paras Som called his friend and told him that he was "getting out." This call proved decisive for the police. As soon as the surveillance team intercepted the conversation, the Meerut police alerted the SSP of Haridwar.

Following this, the station was surrounded from all sides. Ruby found safe, Paras apprehended

The police cordon was so effective that the police located the young woman, Ruby, and arrested the accused, Paras Som, before he could board the train.

Following this, a team from the SP City's office in Meerut also arrived in Roorkee. The accused and the young woman were brought to Meerut late at night, around 10:30 PM.

Senior officers remained stationed at Salawa police post

Following the murder of Sunita and the abduction of her daughter Ruby in Kapsad village of Sardhana, the situation remained extremely sensitive. On Saturday, ADG Bhanu Bhaskar, DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, and SSP remained stationed at the Salawa police post. The three officers kept the police headquarters in Lucknow informed of every development.

The officers inspected all the checkpoints and gave strict instructions to the police personnel to prevent any outsider from entering the village. A tense atmosphere prevailed in the village throughout the day.

Questions Raised About the Role of the Named Accused

In this sensational case, the FIR names Paras Som, Sunil Rajput, and two unknown men as accused. However, the police's failure to apprehend the other accused even after Paras's arrest is raising questions about their handling of the case.

Sunil Not Apprehended, Unknowns Not Identified

The victim's family claims that all four men were involved in the conspiracy to abduct the young woman and murder her mother, Sunita. Despite this, three days after the incident, the police have neither arrested Sunil Rajput nor identified the two unknown men.

Who Was Present at the Scene?

According to police sources, initial investigations suggest that only the main accused, Paras Som, and the young woman, Ruby, were present at the scene at the time of the incident. This raises the crucial question of the actual role of Sunil and the two unknown men named in the FIR. Were they conspirators, or did they play any role before or after the incident? All these aspects are being investigated. SP City Ayush Vikram Singh stated that further action will be taken based on the evidence.

What Was the Entire Incident?

On Thursday morning, Sunita, a resident of Kapsad village in the Sardhana police station area, was going to the fields with her daughter Ruby. Near the canal embankment, Paras Som, Sunil, and their accomplices arrived in a car and attempted to abduct Ruby.

When her mother resisted, she was attacked with an axe. Seriously injured, Sunita died during treatment at the hospital.

Borders Sealed, Leaders Stopped

Following the incident, all district borders were sealed on Saturday morning. At the Kashi toll plaza, SP MP Ramji Lal Suman and MLA Atul Pradhan were stopped by the police, leading to a scuffle and altercation. In the evening, Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad, Congress leaders, and other public representatives were also stopped at the border, resulting in protests and demonstrations.
