Kapsad village under police lockdown after kidnapping-murder case
Meerut: After the shocking kidnapping and murder incident in Kapsad village, Meerut police have imposed extremely tight security measures.
The village has effectively been converted into a high-security zone, with police sealing all entry and exit points.
Anyone attempting to enter Kapsad is being allowed access only after showing a valid Aadhaar card or government-issued identity proof.
Village Remains on Edge
Although the prime accused, Paras Som, has been arrested and sent to jail, tension continues to grip the village. The kidnapped girl, Ruby, has been moved to a counseling center where specialists are assessing her mental health.
Authorities remain on high alert to prevent unrest, rumors, or political influence in the sensitive matter.
Strict Checking at All Entry Points
Heavy police deployment has been made on roads connecting Kapsad to Aterna, Salawa, and nearby areas. Barricades have been placed at every border, and police personnel are stopping each vehicle for inspection.
From checking vehicle compartments to verifying identities of passengers, nothing is being overlooked. Entry is being strictly denied to anyone without proper identification.
Even Political Influence Fails
The extent of police vigilance became evident when a vehicle bearing an MLA sticker was stopped at the Aterna checkpoint.
Despite the presence of political insignia and caps resembling official uniforms, the police thoroughly searched the vehicle, removed the MLA sticker, and questioned the occupants at length.
The vehicle was not permitted to enter the village.
‘Lockdown-Like’ Measures in Place
For the past three days, police have enforced what officials describe as a “lockdown model” in Kapsad. Senior officers, including the SSP and District Magistrate, are personally monitoring the situation.
Police checkpoints, questioning, and surveillance continue round the clock.
Villagers Also Under Surveillance
The monitoring is not limited to outsiders alone. Authorities are keeping detailed records of villagers moving in and out of the area.
The goal is to prevent the spread of misinformation, provocative statements, or misleading videos on social media that could escalate tensions.
Digital and Physical Monitoring
CCTV footage from inside the village, along with videos captured on mobile phones outside the area, is being closely examined. To maintain law and order, entry of political representatives and media personnel has been temporarily restricted.
Background of the Case
The incident occurred on Thursday morning when Sunita, a resident of Kapsad, was heading to the fields with her daughter Ruby.
Allegedly, Paras Som, accompanied by others, attempted to abduct Ruby by force. When Sunita resisted, she was reportedly attacked with an axe, leading to her death.
