Noida Airport’s first flight carries 172 farmers in landmark aviation moment

Noida (Uttar Pradesh): In a historic moment marking the start of commercial operations at Noida International Airport on Monday, a many as 172 farmers whose land was acquired for this project, boarded one of the first flights from the new Airport.

The farmers, including 20 women, travelled from the airport in Jewar to Lucknow alongside local MLA Dhirendra Singh and officials of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). This occasion celebrated the culmination of a project built on land once used for farming.

Public representatives, officials, and businesspeople from Noida witnessed this historic moment. Meanwhile, the first flight departing from Noida Airport left for Lucknow at 8:30 AM. A highlight of this flight was the inclusion of 172 farmers and workers who had contributed their land for the airport's construction.

After the flight, the farmers arrived in Lucknow, where they are scheduled to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Special arrangements have been made at the Chief Minister's residence to welcome them, including provisions for meals and other necessities.

CM Yogi To Interact With Farmers

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also welcomed the farmers via social media. He acknowledged the significant contribution of farmers to the construction of Noida Airport and expressed his intention to meet and interact with them. Five buses carrying the 172 farmers have arrived at the Chief Minister's residence, where he will welcome them all and discuss their experiences related to the airport's construction.

Flight To Bengaluru

A flight arriving at Noida Airport from Lucknow departed for Bengaluru with passengers on board at 8:35 AM. With this, air connectivity from Jewar Airport has commenced. Initially, IndiGo Airlines is launching a direct flight from Lucknow to Noida Airport. In the future, flight services to other major cities across the country will also be expanded.

Regular Flights From 1 July

Regular passenger services from Noida International Airport are scheduled to begin on July 1, after which the general public will be able to fly from Jewar Airport. Noida Airport is viewed as a major facility for the Delhi-NCR region; it will alleviate passenger congestion at Delhi Airport and provide residents of Western Uttar Pradesh with better air travel options.

Jewar Airport Linked To Farmers' Dreams

Jewar Airport is not merely an infrastructure project; it is deeply connected to the dreams of thousands of people. Farmers from several villages had surrendered their land for this project. Now, by traveling on the inaugural flight from this very airport, these farmers have experienced a historic moment. The administration states that the airport will usher in new opportunities for employment, business, and development in the future. Meanwhile, the launch of this first flight marks the beginning of a new chapter in Uttar Pradesh's aviation sector.
