Noida: Following recent labor unrest and violent incidents in industrial areas, companies across Noida have begun implementing revised minimum wage structures, with skilled workers now earning over Rs 16,000 per month.

The move comes after government intervention and aims to restore stability while addressing long-standing employee demands.

According to District Magistrate Megha Rupam, the updated monthly wages have been fixed at Rs 13,690 for unskilled workers, Rs 15,059 for semi-skilled workers, and Rs 16,868 for skilled workers. The revised structure is being rolled out across industries, bringing relief to thousands of workers.

To ensure transparency and avoid confusion, many companies have started displaying detailed wage notices outside factory premises. Officials say this step will help employees clearly understand their entitlements and reduce the scope for disputes.

Unrest Prompted Swift Action

The decision follows a period of heightened tension in Noida’s industrial belts, where protests over alleged non-compliance with minimum wage norms escalated into violence in some areas. Incidents of vandalism and arson were reported, prompting immediate intervention by authorities.

In response, the administration directed companies to strictly implement government-mandated wage rates, leading to the current revision.

Police Crack Down on Misinformation

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have intensified action against individuals accused of spreading misinformation during the unrest. FIRs have been registered against certain political figures, including RJD spokespersons Kanchan Yadav and Priyanka Bharti, for allegedly sharing misleading content on social media that aggravated tensions.

Police officials stated that spreading rumors and inciting unrest through digital platforms will invite strict legal action.

Security Tightened, Normalcy Returning

Security has been significantly enhanced across Noida, with heavy police deployment in sensitive areas. Flag marches and continuous patrols are being conducted to maintain law and order and reassure residents.

Senior officials have been monitoring the situation on the ground, interacting with locals and emphasizing that any attempt to disrupt peace will be dealt with firmly.

Authorities say the situation is now gradually returning to normal, with both industry and workers moving towards a more stable and transparent working environment.
