Lucknow: Jyoti Sharma, a student of Sharda University in Greater Noida committed suicide yesterday on 18 July by hanging herself in the hostel. Jyoti was 21 and a medical student.

Committee Formed

In the mean time the Vice Chancellor of Sharda University Prof (Dr) Sitaram Khara has constituted a committee to probe the matter.Dynamite News correspondent had an exclusive interaction with the spokesperson of Sharda University.

The University spokesperson, during interaction with Dynamite News, said, "Sharda University is very strict in the Jyoti Sharma suicide case. We are also very sad in this matter. Strict action will also be taken against the culprits in this case. Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof (Dr) Sitaram Khara has formed a committee which includes responsible people of the University and some professors of BDS."

The spokesperson further said, "If the committee investigates, the full report will be submitted to the Vice Chancellor as soon as possible, after which Sharda University will take strict action against the culprits."

DCP Sudhir Kumar

Additional DCP of Greater Noida Sudhir Kumar while talking to Dynamite News correspondent said, 'The incident happened on Friday night of July 18 at around 9:00 pm. Jyoti Sharma committed suicide by hanging herself in the hostel. Jyoti was a medical student, her age was only 21 years.'

Sudhir Kumar said that a suicide note by Jyoti has been found wherein it is written that she has taken this suicidal step after being troubled by the torture of two teachers in Sharda University. Now the matter will be investigated impartially. The girl's family filed a complaint. On the basis of which the police have arrested two people.

The police is further investicating the matter.

Suicide Note

In the suicide note, Jyoti wrote, "Mahendra Sir and Sharg Ma'am are responsible for my death. They mentally harassed and humiliated me."Jyoti Sharma: Backgrounder

Jyoti was originally from Haryana. She lived with her family in Gurugram. Jyoti committed suicide in her room on Friday night at around 9 pm. After which the employees of Sharda University admitted the student to Sharda Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
