Triple Murder in Prayagraj
Prayagraj: A horrific incident has shaken Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district after three members of a family were found murdered in Kukurkatwa village under the Yamunanagar area. The blood-stained bodies were discovered outside their home early Tuesday morning, triggering panic and outrage in the locality.
The victims have been identified as 70-year-old Shyamlal (also known as Kallu), his wife Manju Devi, and his sister-in-law. According to preliminary police findings, all three were attacked on the head with a heavy object, suspected to be a brick or stone, while they were asleep in their makeshift dwelling during the night.
Locals spotted the bodies near the entrance of the house and immediately alerted authorities. The shocking discovery led to a large crowd gathering at the scene before police teams arrived and secured the area.
A forensic team, dog squad, and field unit have been deployed to assist in the investigation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, while police have begun questioning villagers and nearby residents to gather leads.
Officials have stated that robbery does not appear to be the motive, as no valuables were reported missing from the house.
However, investigators are also exploring a possible family dispute angle. Police noted that a young woman from the family had left home about a month ago, after which tensions reportedly arose within the household. While this line of inquiry is being examined, authorities have emphasized that it is too early to draw conclusions.
Senior police officials, including Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr Ajay Pal Sharma, DCP Vivek Chandra Yadav, and ACP Meja, visited the site and reviewed the ongoing investigation.
Police have assured that all possible angles are being probed and expressed confidence that those responsible for the triple murder will be identified and arrested soon.
