Tyre Burst on Jammu Highway: Pilgrim bus plunges into 20-Ft drain, one dead, 40 injured

A bus carrying pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine met with a tragic accident in Jammu’s Samba after a tyre burst. The vehicle fell into a deep drain, resulting in one fatality and approximately 40 injuries. The injured have been hospitalized.

Samba: A tragic and terrible bus accident took place in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accident took place on Thursday morning in an area called Jatwal in Samba district. The bus was carrying pilgrims going to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, coming from Uttar Pradesh to Katra in Jammu (which is the base camp of the Vaishno Devi temple).

The cause of the accident is said to be that the tire of the bus suddenly burst. Due to the bursting of the tire, the driver lost control over the vehicle, and the bus went off the road and fell into a drain about 20 feet deep. This drain was very deep, due to which the passengers in the bus suffered serious injuries.

The sad thing about this dreadful accident was that a devotee died on the spot. Apart from this, at least 40 to 45 passengers were injured with different types of injuries. It is reported that there were about 65 to 70 passengers in total in the bus; that is, most of the people have been injured.

Chief Minister has expressed grief over the tragic bus accident in Samba carrying Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims, which has claimed one life and left many injured. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured all possible assistance.

The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby Samba District Hospital for treatment. Those whose condition was more serious have been referred to AIIMS Vijaypur for better treatment and advanced medical facilities so that their lives could be saved and they could be treated better.

As soon as the information about this incident was received, the then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, expressed deep grief and condolences over it. He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Also, he assured all possible help and assistance to the victim families. At present, the police are investigating the whole matter to find out the real causes of the accident. Stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates.
