UP: Factory tin shed collapses in Hapur, several workers buried; Details here

Suddenly the tin shed of a factory in Hapur fell down with a loud noise, due to which the workers there did not even get a chance to escape.

Meerut: Several workers are feared to be buried when the tin shed of Salasar factory on Dhoulana Road in Pilkhuwa Kotwali area of Hapur suddenly collapsed on Sunday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The incident has triggered sensation leading to chaos in the whole area.

The accident happened when the workers were busy in their daily work. Suddenly the tin shed fell down with a loud noise, due to which the workers there did not even get a chance to escape.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police and relief-rescue teams reached the spot and the rescue operation was started.

Rain A Big Challenge

It was raining heavily in the area at the time of the accident, due to which there is a lot of trouble in the relief and rescue work. There is a problem in removing the debris due to water and mud. The NDRF team has also been kept on alert by the administration.

The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have also reached the spot and are taking stock of the situation. Information about the causes of the accident is being sought from the factory management.

In the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that negligence was shown regarding the strength of the tin shed. Due to which this accident happened.

At present it is not clear how many workers are buried under the debris, but the administration says that accurate information will be available only after the relief and rescue work is completed. There is a lot of anger among the local people after the accident. They say that there were no solid security arrangements in the factory and the lives of the workers were played with.

Workers From Outside

According to sources most of the workers in the factory are from other states. It has been heavily since morning and that is parhaps the reason that the old tin shed of the factory fell down upon workers working there. The shed collapsed so suddenly that the workers hardly had any time to escape.

The fellow workers immediately conducted rescue operations and rushed to the injured workers to the nearby hospital.

A case has been registered and the Police investigation is underway.
