UP: Major fire at paper roll factory in Ghaziabad; No injuries so far

Ghaziabad: A huge fire broke out at a paper factory in Ghaziabad district early on Monday morning causing sensation and shock in the whole area, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Upon receiving information, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

The fire was so fierce that it engulfed the entire factory in no time. As soon as the fire was reported, the fire department became active and a good number of fire tenders were sent to the spot to douse the fire.

No Injuries

Though the blaze was quite massive, the matter of big relief is that no casualties or injuries have been reported so far due to fire. One of the reasons may be that perhaps there was no one in the factory in the early hours when the fire broke out.

Ghaziabad Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal said that at around 3:29 am, Vaishali Fire Station received information about the fire. Taking immediate action, three fire tenders were dispatched to the spot. When the fire brigade reached the spot, it was found that the fire had spread to the basement and upper ground floor of the factory. Where a large amount of paper rolls and seats were kept.

Thick Smoke

Due to the excess of flammable material present in the factory, especially paper rolls, the fire quickly took a terrible form. Thick black smoke spread all around, due to which the firefighters had to face a lot of difficulties in entering inside. Seeing the seriousness of the fire, additional help was called from other fire stations of Ghaziabad.

Three fire tenders were called from Kotwali Fire Station, two from Sahibabad, one from Modinagar, two from Loni and three each from the nearby districts Hapur, Meerut and Gautam Buddha Nagar. All the fire brigade teams controlled the fire.

Neighboring Factories Saved

Due to the promptness of the fire department, three to four nearby factories were evacuated in time and they were saved from getting engulfed in fire. At the same time, the help of JCB machines is also being taken to cool the fire and take out the paper rolls.
