UP: Mukhtar Ansari gang’s shooter Shahrukh Pathan killed in encounter

Shahrukh Pathan, a notorious gangster and sharp shooter associated with Sanjeev Jiva-Mukhtar Ansari gang, was killed in an encounter between the police and criminals at Bijopura Tiraha of Thana Chhapar area.

Lucknow: The Meerut Special Task Force (STF) in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh has got a big success late on Sunday night. Shahrukh Pathan, a notorious gangster and sharp shooter associated with Sanjeev Jiva-Mukhtar Ansari gang, was killed in an encounter between the police and criminals at Bijopura Tiraha of Thana Chhapar area.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, STF ASP Brijesh Kumar informed that Shahrukh Pathan fired more than 10 rounds at the STF team. He was injured in retaliation, who was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the doctors declared him dead.

Shahrukh Pathan was a resident of Muzaffarnagar. More than a dozen criminal cases were registered against him. Serious crimes like murder, extortion, attempt to murder and threat were included. Murder in police custody in 2015, murder of a witness and his father in 2017, murder of businessman Goldie in Haridwar in 2017 and he was declared a criminal with a reward of Rs 50,000 in 2017.

Went to jail in Goldie murder case

Shahrukh had been arrested earlier and was sentenced to life imprisonment along with gangster Sanjeev Jeeva in Goldie murder case. He came out of jail on bail a few months ago and again started threatening the witnesses. In this connection, a case of attempt to murder and threat was registered in Sambhal, in which he was wanted.

What was found in Shahrukh's possession?

STF has found three pistols, a 9 mm country-made pistol, more than 60 cartridges and a car from Shahrukh. STF tried to stop Shahrukh by surrounding him, but he started firing indiscriminately at the police. In self-defense, the police retaliated, in which he was injured and later died.

Mafia connection and the story inside the jail

While in jail, Shahrukh Pathan got in touch with Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva and Mukhtar Ansari. After this, he became a shooter of the Jeeva gang and kept committing murders one after the other at the behest of the gang. During his escape, he worked on a plan to scare and eliminate witnesses.

"There was an attempt to capture him alive"

ASP Brijesh Kumar said that Shahrukh was being searched for a long time. An attempt was made to capture him alive, but he opened fire first. After being killed in the encounter, the body has been sent for post-mortem. The police has started searching the entire network and collecting information.
