UP: Youth of 18 shot dead by cousin in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur: An 18-year-old youth was shot dead by his cousin allegedly over petty issues in Nigohi area of Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said here on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Devendra Kumar said that Pradeep, a resident of Ratti village, used to work in Noida.

"He had come to his home a few days ago. On Saturday, while Pradeep was standing outside his house, he was shot by his cousin Sarthak with a licensed rifle," he said.

He said that Pradeep died on the spot due to the bullet injury.

"The family members of the deceased informed the police after several hours. The police have collected evidence through the forensic team. On the basis of the complaint, a case will be registered and the absconding accused will be arrested soon," he said.
