Congress hands over the reins of UP to Aradhana Mishra,
Lucknow: Just ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Congress party has carried out a major organizational reshuffle. Aradhana Mishra 'Mona'—a senior leader and MLA from the Rampur Khas constituency in Pratapgarh—has been appointed as the new President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), while Imran Masood, the MP from Saharanpur, has been entrusted with the responsibility of Working President. With Aradhana Mishra's appointment, Ajay Rai's tenure as the Uttar Pradesh Congress President has concluded.
According to a press note issued by the party, the high command has relieved the incumbent state president, Ajay Rai, of his duties while acknowledging and appreciating his contributions.
Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has also announced appointments to several other crucial posts with immediate effect to further strengthen the state organization.
Working President: Senior leader Imran Masood has been appointed as the Working President for Uttar Pradesh.
Senior Vice Presidents: Devendra Nishad and Alok Prasad have been assigned the responsibility of Senior Vice President to bolster the organization.
Leader of the Congress Legislature Party: Additionally, the party has approved the proposal to appoint Chaudhary Virendra Singh as the new leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Uttar Pradesh.
Aradhana Mishra is the daughter of veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari and serves as the MLA for the Rampur Khas seat in Pratapgarh. A three-time MLA, she possesses extensive experience in Uttar Pradesh politics and organizational affairs. She has long been regarded as a strong and vocal voice for the party within the Legislative Assembly.
As the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the UP Assembly, she has consistently cornered the government on various issues of public interest. Her eloquence and strong grassroots connection make her a formidable face of the organization.
Aradhana Mishra has been active in politics for over two decades. She is counted among the Congress leaders who possess a deep understanding of Uttar Pradesh politics. She is considered a close associate of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Aradhana Mishra also played an active role alongside Priyanka Gandhi in the 'Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon' (I am a girl, I can fight) campaign launched in Uttar Pradesh.
