Mirzapur: While participating in Dainik Jagran's popular "Prashna Pahar" program on Wednesday, Devendra Pachauria, Superintendent Engineer of the Electricity Department, Vindhyachal Division, Mirzapur, answered consumers' questions and offered suggestions. He explained that the government has implemented a one-time settlement scheme to provide consumers with significant discounts on their upcoming electricity bills.

The scheme will run in three phases. The first phase will run from December 1st to December 31st. Consumers who register under this scheme will receive a 100 percent interest waiver on their bills, along with a 25 percent principal discount.

In the second phase, those who register between January 1st and January 31st will receive a 100 percent interest waiver and a 20 percent principal discount. Whereas, if you register in the third phase from February 1st to February 28th, you will receive a 100% interest rebate and a 15% principal rebate. There is also the option to pay bills in installments, but the benefit of this discount will be significantly reduced.

Excerpts from his conversation are presented

Vijay Shankar from Mirzapur said, "I have solar panels installed, but the bill is put on hold. This is causing the high bill."

Solar panels are connected to the electricity connection. This way, the electricity generated by solar panels offsets the electricity consumed. The remaining electricity is transferred to the transmission system. If there is a problem, please report it to the department officials. It will be resolved.

Radheshyam from Mohanpur Pahadi said, "I have a private tube well. The transformer has been burnt out for four months and has not been replaced yet."
- If you complained on 1912, the transformer should definitely be replaced. If it hasn't been replaced, it's negligence. An investigation will be conducted and action will be taken."

Lakshminarayan of Bhava said that he has been receiving messages on his mobile phone repeatedly asking him to pay his bill or his electricity will be cut off.
- After installing the smart meter, he receives daily update messages. Keep checking and recharge when the money runs out.

Atul Tripathi of Gambhirapur, Lalganj, said that since the smart meter was installed, he has been receiving high bills. How can this be fixed?
- There is no need to take readings on the smart meter; the bill will be based on the consumption. If you have a complaint, file an investigation at the power house.

Umesh Mishra of Babura Baraundha said that after installing the smart meter, he has been receiving double the bill. How can this problem be resolved?
- The bill is based on the consumption of the smart meter. If the bill is too high, complain and an investigation will be conducted.

Nitesh Kumar of Vindhyachal said that the electricity department installed a smart meter on his sewer, which has become faulty. Should it be replaced?
- Take a photo of it and send it to my mobile. The meter will be inspected and replaced.

Vijay Kumar of Rajgarh said that there is excessive power outage in the area. Should this be stopped?
- The government-mandated six-hour power outage is observed. That's what happens. There are no power outages beyond that.

Kamlesh Pathak of Rajgarh asked what steps are being taken by the department to address public misconceptions about smart meters?
-Rajan Yadav of Lohia Talab asked how long will the one-time settlement rebate scheme last?
- It will run from December 1st to February 28th. Those who register first and pay the one-time electricity bill will receive the maximum benefit.

- There are power outages from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There are no power outages after this in the Rajgarh area.
