New Delhi: Inverters have become an essential household appliance, especially in areas where power outages are common. While most homeowners focus on performance and battery backup, Vastu Shastra suggests that the placement of an inverter may also play a role in maintaining positive energy within the home.

According to traditional Vastu principles, every object contributes to the overall energy balance of a living space. As an electrical device associated with power and energy, the inverter is believed to influence the flow of energy in its surroundings.

Why the South-East Direction Is Preferred

Vastu experts consider the south-east corner of a house to be the most suitable location for an inverter. Known as the "Agni Kon" or fire zone, this direction is associated with the fire element, making it a preferred space for electrical and energy-related equipment.

Since an inverter operates through stored electrical energy, placing it in this direction is believed to align with the natural energy balance of the home.

Places to Avoid

Vastu guidelines advise against installing an inverter inside a bedroom, directly next to the kitchen, or opposite the main entrance. These locations are considered less favourable for electrical equipment and may, according to traditional beliefs, disturb the positive atmosphere of a house.

Simple Remedies for Existing Installations

If relocating the inverter is not practical, Vastu practitioners suggest a few simple measures. Placing a red or brown floor mat near the unit, keeping a healthy indoor plant nearby, and using soft lighting in the area are believed to help balance the surrounding energy.

Importance of Cleanliness and Maintenance

Experts also recommend maintaining a clean and clutter-free area around the inverter. Heavy objects should not be placed on top of the unit, and water containers should be kept away from it. Shoes, waste materials and unnecessary clutter should also be avoided near the appliance.

While these recommendations are rooted in traditional Vastu beliefs, many homeowners follow them as part of creating a well-organised and harmonious living environment.
