New Delhi: When it comes to Vastu Shastra, most homeowners focus only on the four cardinal directions—North, South, East, and West—while deciding the location of a home's main entrance. However, according to Interior Vastu Planner and Consultant Rani Tibrewal, the traditional Vastu system identifies a total of 32 entrance zones, each believed to carry a distinct type of energy and influence.
She explains that these 32 entrance positions are distributed across different directional sectors, and no two entrances are believed to produce the same results. While some are considered highly favourable for prosperity and well-being, others are traditionally associated with challenges related to finances, health, or mental peace.
To help people better understand these concepts, Tibrewal has announced a dedicated Vastu series focusing on the significance of each entrance zone. Through the series, she aims to explain the positive and negative characteristics of every directional sector and discuss commonly suggested Vastu remedies for homes where the main entrance falls in a less favourable location.
According to her, the purpose of the series is to provide practical guidance for homeowners seeking a balanced and harmonious living environment.
In the first episode of the series, Tibrewal highlights the "Som Direction," which she describes as one of the most powerful entrance zones in Vastu Shastra. Based on the Vastu grid, this sector is located primarily in the northern direction with a slight extension toward the east.
According to traditional Vastu beliefs, this direction is associated with the head of the family, children's growth and success, and continuous financial prosperity. It is also believed to promote positive thinking and create an environment that supports personal aspirations and overall household well-being.
For homes where the main entrance falls within the Som Direction, Tibrewal recommends installing a Kuber Yantra at the entrance. In Vastu traditions, the Kuber Yantra is believed to enhance positive financial energy and strengthen the auspicious qualities associated with this directional zone.
She also advises those planning to build a new house to consider placing the main entrance in the Som Direction wherever feasible, while taking practical design and structural requirements into account.
It is important to note that these recommendations are based on traditional Vastu beliefs and practices. Individual experiences may vary, and such guidance should be viewed as part of cultural and spiritual traditions rather than scientifically established facts.
