Ramgarh: A devastating road accident in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district on Friday claimed the lives of seven people and left one person critically injured after a speeding truck collided head-on with a passenger vehicle on the Ramgarh-Bokaro highway.
The victims were reportedly returning home after attending Muharram observances when the tragedy occurred. According to initial reports, a truck coming from the opposite direction rammed into their vehicle at high speed. The impact was so severe that the passenger vehicle was badly mangled, killing seven occupants on the spot.
Soon after the accident, locals informed the police, following which rescue teams reached the spot. The injured person was rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is said to be critical. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.
