Maharajganj hosted a peaceful Tazia procession on the tenth day of Muharram, marking the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain. The event took place in various areas, including Kolhui, Nautanwa, Sonauli, Farenda, Lakshmipur, Nichlaul, Siswa, Ghughli, Shikarpur, Paniara, Parataval, Mithora, Sindhuria, and other towns and villages.

On this occasion of Muharram, langar was also organized at various places, in which people of all religions sat together and ate food. The organizers and local public representatives appealed to the people to maintain unity, brotherhood and harmony. This event once again made Maharajganj district an example of social harmony and mutual cordiality.
