Pune: The death of 26-year-old real estate director Ketan Vishal Agarwal near Pune has taken a shocking turn, with police now treating the case as an alleged murder conspiracy involving his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary.
What was initially believed to be an accidental fall during a visit to Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18 later unfolded into a murder probe. According to police, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly pushed Agarwal from the fort after planning the act in advance.
The case has drawn attention because Agarwal and Siya were scheduled to get married later this year. Their wedding was reportedly planned in Udaipur in November, with hotels already booked and both families preparing for a grand celebration.
Who Is Siya Goyal?
Siya Goyal, 20, belongs to an affluent business family in Pune. She is a resident of Bibwewadi, and her family is said to be involved in the dry fruits trade.
She got engaged to Ketan Agarwal in February this year. Ketan was associated with his family-run real estate firm, Success Group. According to reports, Ketan’s maternal uncle had played the role of matchmaker between the two families.
The wedding was expected to be a high-profile event in Udaipur, with the families reportedly planning to spend around ₹14 crore on the celebrations.
How Police Suspected Murder Plot
Police began suspecting foul play after several details did not match the initial version of an accidental fall. Investigators reportedly examined Siya’s insistence on visiting Lohagad Fort again, Ketan’s missing passport and the presence of Chetan Chaudhary at the spot.
Another detail that raised suspicion was Chetan allegedly wearing a hoodie despite peak summer conditions. Police also studied CCTV footage, call records and movements of the accused before the incident.
Accused Under Probe
According to police sources, Siya and Chetan allegedly confessed to their role in the incident during questioning. However, recent developments suggest that the two accused have now started blaming each other.
Investigators are still probing the motive, planning and sequence of events that led to Ketan Agarwal’s death. The case remains under investigation, and further details are expected as police continue to examine digital evidence and witness statements.
