Modi expressed confidence that the visit would open new avenues of employment and prosperity in both countries. The visit was his fourth and was at the invitation of the new British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He is also scheduled to meet British King Charles II.
Modi's foreign tours have shown a focus on strengthening India's global reputation. As of 10 July 2024, he has made 79 foreign visits and visited 68 countries. In 2025, he has visited 16 countries, ranging from France to Brazil and Canada to the Maldives.
