South Korea faces a severe social crisis as its birth rate has dropped to one of the lowest in the world. Young people prioritize careers, independence, and financial stability, avoiding dating, marriage, and children.
New Delhi: South Korea is one of the world's leading countries in technology and economy, but it is facing a serious social problem. Due to the fast-paced lifestyle, increasing work pressure, and high cost of living, youth are mainting a distance from relationships, marriage, and having children. This has impacted the country's birth rate, which is among the lowest in the world.
Youngsters are prioritizing their careers and personal freedom, leading to a decline in dating and marriage. In response to this serious problem, the government has taken a unique step. Now, young men and women who go on dates will receive financial assistance of up to approximately ₹31,000.
Couples who get married will receive financial assistance of around ₹25 lakh. In addition, the government will also provide financial support for childbirth and child-rearing. The government hopes that these financial incentives will encourage young people to return to relationships and family life, thereby increasing the country's birth rate.
Experts say that this measure may only be a temporary solution, but if young people feel financially secure, their inclination towards family and children may increase.
