On Thursday, the situation turned tense after the victim’s family alleged that the youth died due to negligence during a surgical procedure. According to the family, he was admitted for treatment of a minor illness, but his condition worsened after the operation, eventually leading to his death. The victim had been married for just one year, which further intensified the family’s grief and anger.
Following the death, hundreds of villagers gathered outside the hospital and staged a strong protest against the hospital management. Accusing the hospital of performing a wrong operation, the protesters blocked Jail Road, bringing traffic to a complete halt and causing inconvenience to commuters and patients. Police and administrative officials reached the spot to control the situation. In view of the unrest, the district administration temporarily sealed the hospital and said further action would be taken after a detailed investigation.
