Police immediately intervened to control the situation. During the clash, several protesters were detained and taken to the police station in buses.
The protest was held against the murder of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh on December 18th and the increasing atrocities against Hindus in the country. The protesters alleged that the Bangladeshi government remains silent on the persecution of minorities and fails to provide justice.
The protesters carried banners and placards and chanted slogans. Police had deployed barricades and security forces to stop the protesters. Some protesters were taken into custody by the police, while efforts continued to manage the remaining crowd.
