Allegations Against Professor

The professor, identified as Muralidhar Deshpande, is accused of verbally abusing a student who had sought permission to briefly step out of class. According to students present, the faculty member reacted sharply and allegedly used derogatory language, including referring to the student as a “terrorist.”

In the video, the professor can be heard raising his voice and making remarks that have since drawn strong reactions. Additional claims suggest that further comments were made during the exchange, though these are being verified.

University Orders Suspension

Following the backlash, the university administration placed the professor under suspension pending a detailed inquiry. In an official statement, the Vice Chancellor confirmed that a formal complaint had been received and that an internal investigation is underway.

The institution stated that appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry and emphasised its commitment to maintaining a respectful academic environment.

Student Concerns and Claims

Some students have also raised concerns about disciplinary action taken against others who supported the affected individual, alleging they were suspended on unrelated grounds. The university has not officially confirmed these claims but indicated that all aspects of the situation are being reviewed.

Officials noted that faculty members are regularly trained to handle classroom situations responsibly and said such incidents are rare.
