New Delhi: Abhay Singh is the very individual who went viral under the moniker "IITian Baba" during the 2025 Mahakumbh. He pursued his studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and subsequently left his job to embrace the path of spirituality, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

After living the life of a Sadhu (ascetic) for years, Abhay Singh has now transitioned into Grihastha (married/domestic) life. He has married a young woman named Prateeka, who is herself an engineer and hails from Karnataka.

This transition is particularly significant because Abhay Singh had previously fully committed himself to the path of asceticism, distancing himself entirely from his family.

When and Where Did the Wedding Take Place?

Abhay Singh tied the knot in a traditional ceremony on February 15, 2026—the auspicious day of Mahashivratri—at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple in Himachal Pradesh. Following this, a civil marriage ceremony was also conducted on February 19. Currently, the couple is residing in Dharamshala.

Reunion with Family

On April 6, 2026, Abhay Singh arrived in Jhajjar, Haryana, with his wife to meet his parents.
This reunion was especially noteworthy as it marked the first time in a long while that he was seen together with his family.

What Did His Wife Say?

Prateeka described Abhay Singh as a "simple, honest, and genuine human being."
She shared that the couple had met approximately a year ago and that they would now work together to promote and propagate spirituality and Sanatan Dharma.

The Significance of Marrying on Mahashivratri

According to Hindu beliefs, the divine marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati took place on this very day. Consequently, getting married on this day is considered to be extremely auspicious and sacred.

Future Plans

Abhay Singh and his wife are also planning to establish a "Sanatan University" in the future, where spirituality and education will be seamlessly integrated.
