New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi created a memorable moment during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort when he stepped away from the formal proceedings to interact with schoolchildren, NCC cadets and My Bharat volunteers.
After delivering his Independence Day address from the historic ramparts, PM Modi moved towards the young attendees, turning the grand national ceremony into a personal and emotional interaction with the next generation of India.
As the ceremony concluded with the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ and the National Anthem, the Prime Minister decided to walk towards the enclosures where students and young volunteers were seated.
Breaking from the usual protocol, PM Modi shook hands, exchanged greetings and interacted with children who were present at the venue.
The young attendees expressed excitement as they got an opportunity to meet the Prime Minister up close during the historic celebration.
A special moment caught everyone’s attention when a young girl bent down to seek the Prime Minister’s blessings. During the gesture, her cap slipped and fell to the ground.
PM Modi immediately bent down, picked up the cap and gently placed it back on her head. The simple act of kindness brought smiles and applause from people present at the venue.
The gesture reflected a warm connection between the Prime Minister and the young participants attending the Independence Day ceremony.
The interaction came in line with the youth-focused message of PM Modi’s Independence Day speech. During his address, he highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering young Indians, including opportunities in technology, artificial intelligence, sports and skill development.
He spoke about expanding AI and semiconductor training opportunities for youth and strengthening India’s capabilities for the future.
