Mumbai: If you drive an electric vehicle between Mumbai and Ahmedabad your journey just got easier. Tata Power has introduced a new ultra-fast charging station that promises to make long highway trips smoother and far less stressful.

New Charger Set Up on a Busy Route

The company just launched a 180 kW ultra-fast EV charger on March 25 along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway (NH-48). It is located at Vithal Kamat Restaurant in Manor, a popular stop for travelers.

This charger is part of Tata Power’s EZ Charge network and supports CCS 2 technology which means it works with many different EV models. Its location has been carefully chosen to help people travelling between major cities.

Faster Charging, Less Waiting

One of the biggest advantages of this new station is speed. Tata Power says vehicles can also charge from 20% to 80% in just 15 to 30 minutes. It means drivers can spend less time waiting and more time on the road.

The station is expected to serve around 25 to 30 vehicles daily, making it useful for both personal and commercial EV users.

Take a Break While Your Car Charges

What makes this stop even better is its location at a restaurant. Travelers can use clean restrooms, grab a meal, or simply relax while their vehicle charges. Instead of worrying about charging time, people can take a proper break and continue their journey refreshed.

Reducing ‘Range Anxiety’

For many EV users, one major concern during long trips is “range anxiety” the fear of running out of charge with no station nearby. With chargers like this being installed on highways, Tata Power aims to ease that worry and make EV travel more reliable and comfortable.

Part of a Bigger Plan

This new charging station is part of Tata Power’s larger effort to expand EV infrastructure across India. The company already has a strong network of home chargers, public stations, and highway charging points. With more such initiatives, long-distance EV travel in India is slowly becoming easier, faster, and more convenient.
