Hyundai Unveils Premium Electric MPV with 400 km Range
New Delhi: Hyundai Motor Company has created a stir in the automotive world by introducing its new premium electric MPV, the Hyundai Staria Electric, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. This electric MPV has been specifically designed for customers who prioritize space, luxury, and advanced technology. The company has stated that the Staria Electric will be launched in Korea and Europe in the first half of 2026, followed by other international markets.
Hyundai previously showcased the ICE-engined Staria in India during the Auto Expo 2025. While an immediate launch of the electric version in India has not been confirmed, the company has not ruled out its future potential. Given the growing demand for the premium MPV segment in India, this model could enter the Indian market in the coming years.

The Hyundai Staria Electric has been designed using the ‘Inside-Out’ design philosophy. This means that passenger comfort and space are the main focus of the design. Its long and futuristic appearance, sleek body panels, wide beltline, and spacious cabin make it a distinctive feature on the road. A full-length front light strip, wide sliding doors, and a large rear hatch further enhance its premium appeal.
The Staria Electric also boasts a modern interior. It features two large 12.3-inch displays that serve as the driver display and infotainment system. The next-generation ccNC infotainment platform supports OTA updates, ensuring the system is always up-to-date. Smart storage options and flexible seating are key features.

The Hyundai Staria Electric will be available in two configurations at launch. The 7-seater luxury version offers excellent legroom, headroom, and a 435-liter boot space. The 9-seater wagon version is designed for larger families and shuttle services, offering up to 1,303 liters of cargo space with the seats folded.
This electric MPV comes with an 84 kWh battery and a 160 kW (215 bhp) electric motor, which delivers a WLTP-certified range of approximately 400 kilometers. It features an 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast DC charging. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. An 11 kW AC charger is also provided for everyday use.
Overall, the Hyundai Staria Electric has the potential to be a major disruptor in the premium electric MPV segment.
